Welcome to
the Midwest, America's Heartland. On every list of the top ten cities
in the United States, Chicago ranks high. Or, as Chicago natives
like to think, Chicago rules! A world-class city architecturally,
Chicago is home to a diverse population. At one time, Halsted Street
was said to intersect with more different ethnic groups than any
street in the world, Chicago is the melting pot the United States
was intended to be. From a culinary standpoint, this means you can
find any cuisine the palate can imagine in our great city. From
a practical standpoint, it means you can find people you will feel
at home with no matter what your cultural or ethnic background.
The richness
most of us experience living here is in the blend of many diverse
experiences coming together for a unique sense of community.
Of the many
jewels of Chicago and its environs, Oak Park, a village which borders
Chicago directly to the west, is one of the finest. Oak Park is
an international community with excellent schools, transportation,
medical facilities and stand out architecture. It is centered in
the midst of everything the Chicago area has to offer. Beside having
a rich history which includes being the birthplace of Prairie School
architecture, it has been the birthplace or crossroad for many of
society's movers and shakers. Just visit the wall of fame at either
Fenwick or Oak Park and River Forest High School to get an idea
of some of the known people from the area who have shaped our world.
